Please read these terms carefully before using Munin. By downloading or using the application, you agree to be bound by them.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Munin and any related services provided by Munin ("we," "us," or "our"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the application.
2. Description of Service
Munin is a desktop mail client application that connects to Gmail via Google's official API to provide enhanced email management capabilities. The application runs locally on your device. Munin is currently in pre-release and features may change significantly before general availability.
3. Google Account & Gmail Integration
To use Munin you must have a valid Google account with Gmail. Your use of Google services is governed separately by Google's Terms of Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account credentials.
You grant Munin permission to access your Gmail account solely to provide the features you use within the application. You may revoke this access at any time through your Google account settings.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Munin to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Infringe the rights of others, including intellectual property rights
- Send spam, phishing messages, or other unsolicited communications
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-export email data for commercial purposes
- Interfere with or disrupt Google's services or infrastructure
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
5. Intellectual Property
Munin and all associated content — including the application software, logos, and branding — are owned by Munin and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.
You retain all ownership of your email content. Munin claims no rights over the emails you access through the application.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
Munin is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees that the application will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities. Use of the application is at your own risk.
Because Munin is in pre-release, you should expect bugs, incomplete features, and potential data display issues. We strongly recommend keeping your email data backed up through Google's own systems.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Munin shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the application — including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Munin shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which during the free beta period is zero).
8. Termination
You may stop using Munin at any time by uninstalling the application. We reserve the right to discontinue the service or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms, with or without notice.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will notify waitlist subscribers of material changes by email. Continued use of Munin after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
